Spring Break 2006

My original plan for Spring Break was to go to Port Aransas with Chad et al and then spend a couple of days in Austin. However, I found this awesome apartment and decided to save myself the stress of juggling classes, work and moving in and just take Spring Break to move in. So here's how my break ended up.

Thursday: Took my stupid Con Law Midterm then headed down to Dallas, Texas to visit Hallie, Angie, Cody and Rolo. Got in about 8pm and met up with Cody, Hallie and Rolo in Downtown Dallas.

Friday: I drove out to Frisco, Texas and went to the infamous Sam Moon, spent about $150 on girlie stuff and then headed over to Ikea to buy some things for my new apartment. Drove back into Dallas and met up with Hallie and Rolo for Happy Hour. Later we got to meet up with Angie and Cody.

Saturday: Rolo and I had big plans to go to the St. Pattie's Day Parade on Greenville, but slept in and missed it, but got decked out in green anyways and headed into Dallas from Carrollton and got trashed on some green beer. We got a 100 oz. beer tower and then headed over to the movie theater to watch "Failure to Launch" (what else do you do? - I'd give the movie a B). After the movie, we headed back to Carrollton for more drinking in front of the TV.

Sunday: Woke up and decided I was way too hungover to drive back to Tulsa so I decided to stay one more day. Rolo and I went to this excellent little vietnamese restaurant, had way too much sake (which I still think tastes like old feet), and went back to continue drinking in front of the tv (my favorite thing to do).

Monday: Headed back to Tulsa at 7am and as I'm driving through Okmulgee, I get a call from work telling me I have to testify in court at 2:00. I tell them I have to pick my mom up from the airport at 2:00, they don't care...they told me to get her a cab (so ready to quit at this point). Got my mom a cab to the courthouse, testified, got cross-examined for the first time (re: an ex-client of ours), then finally got to start moving some things over to my new place. Later that evening, my mom took me, Josh and Megan out to dinner at Bourbon Street and shortly after, we crashed after our long day.

Tuesday through Friday: Mom and I moved all day and shopped all night; I'm finally moved in and so relieved that my mom was here to help me.

Hurvitz' Birthday: Take Two

So even though we celebrated Aaron's birthday on Thursday with a surprise party, we celebrated it again on Saturday. We started out at In the Raw where we saw Garth Brooks and were expecting to see Jesse Metcalf (the gardener from Desperate Housewives). Then we headed over to Brookside Bar and well, the rest of the night was pretty hazy.

Beautiful of both of us, I know.

Houston, we have a problem...

So one more delay on completely updating the blog: I have a 40 page paper due on Monday. Yes, I knew my rough draft for my seminar paper was due monday, but I never thought our professor would want it to actually be the whole 40 pages. So I am skipping class for the rest of the week and writing this paper. Good news: I've been working for less than 3 hours and already have a 6 pages. Bad news: it's completely random and I still have 36 more pages to spit out.

Maybe I should have stayed home and worked on my paper instead of going to that drag show last night...

Where have I been?

Well, last week was Spring Break and although I only left town for 4 days, I was moving into a new apartment the remainder of my break. I will have lots more to add later but here's the one and only picture that I have managed to get on my computer so far.

At Humperdinks in Dallas with Rolo - that is a 100 ounce beer tower that we finished relatively fast (we beat the table of 5 next to us - they didn't know we were racing though)

Did someone say coagulation?

Last night we had a surprise party for Aaron at Senor Tequila's. We all had a great time at the restaurant, had a few margaritas and then headed to Brookside Bar. Here are some pics from the restaurant:

At Brookside, Ruggles and I played pool against Aaron and Vaughn, and lost so we had to buy them shots. We decided to buy them a shot called a "Cement Mixer". This is Bailey's and Rose's Lime Juice...once mixed together, they "coagulate" and are pretty hard to swallow. I wish I had gotten a picture of those two boys trying to shoot those.

I'm moving!

I found the cutest apartment right off of Cherry Street in the middle of everything that's 1200 square feet, all hardwood floors and the absolute biggest walk-in closet I've ever seen. And did I meantion, I signed the lease today and started to move in? Thank goodness, because if I have to spend another week living with Cruella Deville, I don't know what I will do. Here are a couple of pics.

House-warming party to be scheduled shortly after Spring Break.

Last weekend...

...was fun. Thursday, Sara and I went to In the Raw and then met up with Mike. We went back to her place and drank way too much red wine. Needless to say, I got trashed, took out my hair (extensions that is) as usual, and well, put them on Mike via his request...

Friday, Marisa, Mikey and I started out at Bourbon Street and had some excellent appetizers. Then, we ventured on to the Tavern, Another Round, Mike's party and the Buc. I was very giggly this night which made it that much more fun.

Saturday, our Relay for Life team had a Mardi Gras themed fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Here are some pictures:
